The French Annex

Today is the 1st December and the Dartford Crossing has fallen into the hands of the French. Now, please don’t misunderstand me, I LIKE the French! But I feel we are becoming more part of France by every passing day! You see, it’s like this – the Dartford Crossing is now owned by the French company SANEF, (Société des Autoroutes du Nord et de l’Est de la France). Although many successive governments promised that once the crossing had generated sufficient profits to pay for the QEII bridge, they all forgot about it when they saw what a fantastic revenue source it was. Then some bright spark, (you must have to be really clever to be a politician!), thought that, rather than keep the unlimited source of revenue that would just run for ever and ever, (or at least until someone with a conscience decided to honour the original promises), they would flog it off to the French! How clever was that?!

Of course though, this is only the latest in a long line of sales. Take, for example, our water companies – most are now owned by foreign companies, (many are either Australian or Chinese). Our primary electricity provider is EDF, (Électricité de France), the majority of our waste services are managed by Veolia which is a French company headquartered in Paris, get a bus in London and you’re very likely to be getting on a RATP bus, (Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens), in Yorkshire its quite likely to be Transdev, (formerly part of Veolia but still very much a French company), even the latest, (and only), new Nuclear Power Station is being built by EDF, (using Chinese money!). The French have not had a great history of military victories, but it seems they are doing a sterling job of annexing Great Britain – what will we need to call ourselves? Greater France maybe?

Of course, it isn’t just the French that now own Britain, we are a nation that belongs to others. Our airports are largely owned by the Spanish, our largest water company is owned by the Germans, much of our infrastructure is owned by the Chinese, the Australians and the Germans and the transport systems are largely owned by the French, the Germans and the Dutch! Don’t believe me? Take a look at who owns Abellio, Arriva, EDF, Keolis, MTR, RATP, SANEF, SNCF, SNCB, Veolia and the many other companies that are either partially or fully state owned by other countries. Great Britain has been sold off!! Its RudyMenTerry!
